SOUND DESIGN

POUNDING NAILS IN THE FLOOR WITH MY FOREHEAD - This was an intricate concoction dreamed up by Jon Dambacher as an adaption to the one man show originally written and performed by Eric Bogosian. One part acting (dozens of different characters), one part audio, and one part video.

SPAMALOT @ MERCURY THEATER CHICAGO - Monty Python and the Holy Grail on stage. 2019 Jeff Award winner for best production and best director.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS @ MERCURY THEATER CHICAGOThis show was a blast. Designing the sounds of a giant plant consuming humans as well as alien spaceship noises was a big treat. Mixing the best band and vocalists in Chicago for over 100 shows was an even bigger treat.

THE NEW-1 - A polyphonic synthesizer based around a raspberry pi running Sunvox modular patches. Patches integrate various styles of synthesis with a familiar subtractive-style interface layout. Carl was the principal consultant on this project, hand built and designed by his brother Nils Wahlstrom in Bozeman, Montana.

QUEEN OF THE MIST - FIREBRAND THEATRE - A real honor to be apart of this one. The Chicago Tribune reviewed it as "the single best performance on offer in Chicago right now."

BELOW THE BELT @ REDTWIST THEATRE - The first show I did with the Hundo crew. For this one, Jon Dambacher dreamed up a moment of character jamming loudly to Enya CD via walkman on blast that put me in sound design heaven.

HAIR @ MERCURY THEATER - It's hard to compete with the sound of the original mixes from the 1979 film, but that's what we did on this one, thanks to an incredible band made up of some of the best players in the city.

PIPPIN @ VENUS CABARET - A lion roaring when Fastrada enters? Yes. Used a lot of Ensoniq TS-10 on this show.
